The following position is available:
Middle and High School Special Educational Needs Teacher

Required Qualification:
Master’s degree in special education from a Finnish university

Job Description:

  • Plan and implement teaching according to the school curriculum in collaboration with other teachers
  • Bring expertise in student admission through student testing support and result analysis
  • Provide specialised instruction tailored to the unique needs and abilities of students with special education requirements
  • Work closely with counsellor to identify students’ academic, social, and emotional needs
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify students’ strengths, challenges, and learning styles
  • Regularly evaluate and monitor students’ progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
  • Create and implement teaching materials and resources that support diverse learning styles
  • Implement positive behaviour support strategies to manage challenging behaviour and create an inspiring learning environment
  • Implement strategies to foster social skills, emotional regulation, and positive peer interactions; engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on the best practices in special education
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students’ pedagogical documents
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adapt teaching methods to respect and celebrate the cultural diversity of students
  • Collaborate with other teachers, school staff, and administrators to create a collaborative and supportive school environment
  • Contribute and complete your responsibilities as a member of the student welfare team
  • Adhere to the professional code of ethics for educators, ensuring integrity, confidentiality, and ethical practices in teaching
  • All other duties allocated by one’s supervisor
