Teaching practice at Qatar-Finland International School

Qatar-Finland International School (Q.F.I. School) was established in 2014 at the invitation of the Qatari Ministry of Education. The school is based in Doha and is operated by EduCluster Finland. Presently the school offers education for students from grades 0-12, age groups 5-18 and had the first graduates from Qatar-Finland International High School in spring 2022. There are over 700 students in the school coming from over 60 nationalities. Qatari students make up approximately 35% of the student population. The Principal Mr. Yousri Youssef, is from Finland and around 54 % of the teaching staff are Finnish. There are 92 pedagogical staff in total in the school, meaning an adult to student ratio of 1:8. The school’s curriculum is based on the Finnish National Core Curriculum with local adaptation and additional content to align with Qatari standards.

We are offering to our trainees:

  • We are a full K12 school and the first international school outside Finland with a Finnish High School. We have experienced and highly educated class teachers and subject teachers who are motivated to mentor upcoming trainees starting on January 2023.
  • The length of the training is decided individually with the trainee depending on the requirements of the practice period.
  • We can have 3 trainees at the same time in each Term. Term 2 begins on 2nd of January and Term 3 begins on 19th of March. The academic year 2022-2023 ends on 22nd of June.

We are looking for:

  • Open minded, innovative, and committed trainees, who are passionate about sharing their knowledge, applying Finnish teaching and learning new practices in an international environment.
  • Good level of verbal, and written English skills
  • Class, Subject, and SEN teacher trainees

Q.F.I. school has had many trainees over the years, so the school has well-established and functioning practices in place. The trainee is expected to arrange and cover the costs for accommodation, flights, VISA, transportation, and life in general.
