Pioneering Finnish education expertise globally

The EduCluster Finland story starts four decades ago at a time when Finnish education was underperforming. Finland made a strategic decision to innovate and build a high-impact educational system.

This extraordinary evolution was achieved by looking outwards to the world for solutions. These solutions were then rooted into real-life education and have grown over time.

As the world observed evidence of Finnish educational success through PISA and other international benchmarking systems, Finland engaged in cycles of continuous refinement, which goes on to this day.

The University of Jyväskylä has long played a central role in re-shaping education in Finland. Over the years, the activities of the University’s individual experts, faculties, and special operating centres have enabled excellence in Finnish education to be internationally recognised.

In 2010, in order to build upon accomplishments and consolidate expertise of three Jyväskylä-based education providers in one capability centre, EduCluster Finland was launched. Since then we are proud to have co-created several Finland International schools and provided professional development for thousands of teachers, school leaders and directors of education.

Now, 10 years later, we are privileged to work in partnership with governments, ministries, schools and educators from Latin America to East Asia, Northern Europe to South Asia, and across MENA.

We continuously develop our know-how in close collaboration with our three owner organisations:
