Finland International School Race Course

FIS Race Course follows the Finnish education concept, which is internationally acknowledged for producing high-ranking student performance while nurturing the wellbeing of the whole learning community. Finnish ECEC years and Finnish Primary grades will be followed by Middle Years Programme and IB Diploma Programme to provide a top-quality study path to higher studies in India and internationally.

Open positions at FIS Race Course

FIS Race Course is looking for passionate educators to join their innovative team. Teachers will work with diverse age groups and collaborate closely with local educators, blending the expertise of Finnish and Indian teaching practices to create a truly engaging learning environment.

The following positions are available:

  • Preschool Teachers (teacher for 12 months to 5 years old)
  • Class Teachers for Primary School (grades 1–5  and ages 6–11) with qualifications and/or experience in one or more of the following: Textile Craft, Woodcraft, Home Economics, Music, PE, Drama, English, Special Education
  • Special Education Teacher
  • Subject Teachers (IB Middle Years Programme* grades 6 – 9, IBDP*/IBCP* High School grades 11-12)
    • Mathematics subject teacher
    • Science subject teacher

*Finland International School Race Course is a Candidate School* for the Middle Years Programme, Diploma Programme and Career Related Programme. This school is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School. Job description for teaching positions:

  • Planning and implementing teaching according to the school curriculum in collaboration with other teachers and learning assistants
  • Keeping pedagogical documentation up to date
  • Substituting pedagogical staff if needed
  • Continuous student assessment, follow-up and recording of student development
  • Supervising students
  • Participating in the professional development programme
  • Contributing to school development work
  • Communicating with parents weekly
  • All the other duties allocated by the school admin

Job description for a special education teacher position:

  • Active member of the Student Welfare and Support Team
  • Collaborating with staff and parents to support students
  • Supervising students and consulting on student welfare topic
  • Planning and delivering curriculum with staff collaboration
  • Contributing to school and professional development programs
  • Maintaining documentation and assessing student progress
  • Supporting student admissions through testing and analysis
  • Substitution
  • All the other duties allocated by the school admin

Required qualifications

  • Preschool teacher position requires relevant qualifications from a Finnish university
  • Class/subject teacher, special education teacher positions require appropriate teacher qualifications from a Finnish university

Successful candidates should:

  • Have experience teaching in Finland
  • Be confident in facilitating age-appropriate, active learning that fosters inquiry, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking
  • Be open minded, flexible, and collaborative, with a forward-thinking and hard-working attitude
  • Be passionate about hands-on, practical learning and inclusive education that supports diverse needs

  • Possess good stress management skills and adaptability in dynamic settings

Background in an international environment and experience teaching different age groups are an added advantage.
