Finland International School Race Course

Finland International School (FIS) RaceCourse in Mumbai, India, is owned and operated by Goenka Inc., an enterprise dedicated to providing holistic and transformative education through innovation and experiential learning. FIS Race Course follows the internationally recognised Finnish education concept, known for its strong student performance and emphasis on well-being.
The school offers a seamless academic pathway, starting with Finnish pre-primary and primary education that emphasises play-based and inquiry-driven learning to foster creativity, independence, and a lifelong love for learning. This foundation aligns with the three IB programmes* for which the school is a candidate: the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in the middle years, and the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) in high school. By integrating the Finnish approach with the IB continuum, FIS provides a high-quality education for students pursuing higher studies in India and abroad.

The FIS faculty comprises an experienced team of educators from Finnish, Indian, and international backgrounds, combining the strengths of the Finnish perspective with Indian expertise. A quarter of the faculty is from Finland, working closely with local educators through co-teaching and shared learning. FIS Race Course began its pre-primary services in January 2024 and welcomed students from Grades 1–7 in August 2024. In the academic year 2025–26, the school will operate all pre-primary groups, all primary classes, Grades 6–9 in the MYP, and Grade 11 in high school.

*FIS Race Course is a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme. Only schools authorised by the IB Organisation can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorisation will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org
