FIS Guwahati is looking for a Finnish Math Mentor Teacher to join its founding team of four Finnish Mentor Teachers

The school will open its doors to students on April 6th, 2026. Therefore, the preferred starting date for the Finnish Math Mentor Teacher is already March 23rd, 2026, with the latest possible start date being July 27th, 2026.
Successful candidate should
FIS Guwahati is looking for enthusiastic and skilled Finnish Math Mentor Teacher for Grades 6-8 who:
- Demonstrates leadership qualities in a team leader role
- Promotes professional growth in fellow educators through co-teaching and leading teacher training sessions
- Has an ability to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning in students and teachers
- Is keen to develop the school towards an interdisciplinary, skill-based approach
- Embodies an open-minded and flexible approach
- Provides inclusive education, addressing diverse needs in a supportive environment
- Integrates and utilises educational technology comfortably
Required Qualifications
The Finnish Math Mentor Teacher will have teaching qualifications from a Finnish university and experience from Finnish secondary schools (grades 7-9 and/or high school). Experience in teaching Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Studies or Science is an advantage.
Curriculum
- Grades 1–5 will follow Finnish International Curriculum, made by FIS India, and blending the best of Finnish pedagogy with experiential learning, just like at FIS Guwahati’s sister school, FIS Race Course in Mumbai
- From Grade 6 onward, students will transition into the Cambridge International Curriculum, preparing for the IGCSE and beyond, while continuing to benefit from our hands-on, student-centred Finnish teaching approach
- Finnish teaching methods will focus on collaboration, problem-solving, and student well-being
- Experiential learning will take place through projects, real-world applications, and outdoor education
- Overall school life will place a strong emphasis on critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility
