Finland International School in Pune, India is looking for an enthusiastic team to set up a brand-new state-of-the-art school following the Finnish National Core Curriculum. The school will open its doors in August 2022.

Job Descriptions

Principal

  • Leading school operations and pedagogical processes
  • Ensuring the successful implementation of school activities
  • Promoting school organisational values of shared leadership and innovative pedagogical leadership practices, tools, and activities
  • Leading school set-up and development together with key stakeholders
  • Overseeing student admissions
  • Engaging and motivating all staff achieving high standards in all areas of the school’s work
  • Building and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders and supporting co-operation with parents
  • Cooperation with EduCluster Finland and other collaboration partners
  • Annual revision of school operational plan
  • Responsible for school budget & procurement
  • Responsible for student welfare work

Class Teachers and Pre-school Teachers

  • Planning and implementing teaching according to the school curriculum in collaboration with other teachers and learning assistants
  • Co-teaching and mentoring international/local educators
  • Keeping pedagogical documentation up to date
  • Substitution
  • Continuous student assessment, follow-up and recording of student development
  • Student supervision
  • Participating in Professional Development program
  • Contributing in school development work
  • Communicating with parents

Special Education Teachers

  • Planning and implementing teaching according to the school curriculum in collaboration with other teachers and learning assistants

  • Consulting pedagogical staff in student support related topics
  • Continuous student assessment, follow-up and recording of student development

About the school

Finland International School in Pune (FISiP) is a new EduCluster partner school in India. It is being co-created all the way from the school building together with different stake holders. The school is following the best practices  from Finland with the Finnish National Core Curriculum, which is merged with local requirements.

The staffing is half Finnish and half international/local. This means that the elements of continuous professional development, co-teaching and mentoring are present all the time. During the first academic year FISiP is catering children in grades 0- 4 with the amount of appr. 160 children. The school will gradually expand to a full K-12 school.
